John Goulding

John is the most recent addition to the Bay Area FCA staff and is focusing on the Coaches ministry while supporting all other FCA activities. As of June 15, 2015 John has retired from a 40 year teaching and coaching career in the Bay Area at Tennyson and James Logan high schools. He grew up in the Bay area and attended Aragon High in San Mateo where he played basketball and baseball. John attended Arizona State University and played under legendary coaches Bobby Winkles and Jim Brock. After graduation he returned to the Bay and began his coaching career under his long time mentor Bob Roselli. John and his wife Susan of 35 years have raised 5 amazing children. Tyler 30, Logan 27, Riley 24, Shane 21, and Juliana 18. All of the boys are pursuing coaching careers at the college level while Juliana is on her way to Disney college. The quote from Billy Graham “A coach will influence more people in one year than most people will in a lifetime” really motivates John to have an impact on coaches building their faith and boldness for Jesus on the many Bay area campuses.

Favorite Passage from Scripture:
Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore, brothers by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God: this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God."
